Art in August
Art in August 2024
For over 20 years, Winchester businesses and artists have collaborated to turn the downtown area into an arts colony during the month of August. Throughout the month, creations of local artists are on display in windows and inside stores in downtown Winchester. In addition to the grand opening reception hosted by the Griffin Museum of Photography, be sure to visit the meet-the-artist receptions on Thursday evenings.
Last year's festival also saw the return of Art in the Park on Saturday, August 17, a full day of arts activities on the Common at the Winchester Farmers' Market.
Sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council, resources included:
An interactive map of venues (see also below)
A list of meet-the-artist receptions
The Art in August brochure (PDF, available at all venues)
New in 2024! Several of the Art in August artists are featured on the Art in August channel of the augmented reality app Hoverlay. Learn more about the artists and see their creations in a whole different light by downloading the free Hoverlay app—also the platform for the extensive Winchester Riverwalk exhibition presented by the Winchester Cultural District.
Art in August is sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council and the Winchester Artists Network (WAN). More info is available at https://winchesterculturalcouncil.org/art-in-august.
All events are free of charge to the public.
