Winchester Artists Network
Making Art Part of the Community
Welcome
Since 1999, the Winchester Artists Network (WAN) has been working to make art an important part of the community. Visit the links herein for more information about who we are, what we are doing, what our artists are doing, and how to become a member of WAN. We encourage you to visit galleries in town showcasing the work of some of our many artist members. Below is a sampling of the many opportunities for WAN artists to connect through events in Winchester during the year.
Art All Around Winchester 2025
Save the date for Art in Bloom 2025: Thursday, April 3, 6-9pm at Sanborn House! Sponsored by Winchester Home and Garden Club.
May
Winchester Artists Network partners with the Winchester Public Library each May for an Annual Members Show, Art in the Library. The exhibition features talented WAN artists, with artwork on display throughout the library, including for example oil paintings, watercolors, acrylic paintings, collage, pastels, photography, textile art, ceramics, and mixed media work. A special Exhibit Reception provides visitors with the opportunity to meet participating artists. Follow here to see what is new for art exhibits at the Library. https://www.winpublib.org/artexhibits/
August
Sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council,
businesses and artists collaborate to turn the downtown area into an arts colony for Art in August. During the month, creations of local artists are on display in windows and inside shops in downtown Winchester. In addition, the Griffin Museum of Photography graciously hosts an opening reception for all of the community to kick off the month, and smaller meet-the-artist receptions are held at some of the local businesses on Thursday evenings. For one Saturday in August, local artists also partner with Winchester Farmers Market for Art in the Park, a full day of arts activities on the Common.
November
Winchester Open Studios is a town-wide cultural exhibition and marketplace taking place in November each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Winchester artists are among the over 50 exhibitors in multiple locations throughout town including the Indoor Farmers Market at the Jenks Center, the Winchester Unitarian Society, the First Congregational Church, Studio on the Common, the Griffin Museum, and several others.

Other Opportunities:
The Winchester Farmers Market takes place Saturdays from June to October on the Town Common. Members of the Winchester Artists Network are invited to sign up for a WAN-sponsored table with reduced participation fees at various Saturdays. See the Contact/Join page for more info.
The Griffin Museum of Photography is a cultural treasure based in Winchester and serving the broader region and beyond. Throughout the year, the Museum offers a variety of exhibits at its main location and small satellites, and often reaches out to the local community of photographers to submit for selection in featured shows.
Through the dedication of the Winchester Augmented Reality Team (WART), the use of augmented reality is available to enhance some of Winchester's foremost art exhibits, including Art in August, Open Studios and the Riverwalk sculptures in the Winchester Cultural District. You can learn more about WART's efforts and connecting your work with AR through the Hoverlay app here: https://www.wart.win/.
Other individual exhibits and opportunities are shared throughout the year via the WAN list serve, so be sure to sign up as a WAN member to stay tuned to what's happening in and around the arts community! And for "everything" going on in Winchester, check out www.towncommon.org.
